About Me

Hi, welcome to my webpage. I’m Jo, a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and I run Therapy Corner. Being a person-centred counsellor means that I work with whatever you bring to each session.  The sessions are non-directive and you set the pace, it’s time for you and about you!

All sessions are relaxed and non-clinical.  My aim is to support, listen and hear you, giving you the confidence to discover or re-discover your own potential. Your mental health always matters and I’m here for you. Whatever you’re going through, an issue, a bereavement, loss or a change, however big or small it might seem, I’m here to listen.

I am a member of the (BACP Reg No:00918957) British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.  This means I work within their framework and to their professional standards at all times working with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, low self-esteem, loss, bereavement, pet loss, sexual assault, childhood sexual assault, rape, gender identity, sexual orientation, family conflict, domestic abuse and self-harm.

In 2018, I completed the Rape and Sexual Assault Counselling Centre Training Course in Darlington, with additional eating distress Certificate from NIWE. I have also trained in Bereavement Counselling and most recently Pet Loss Counselling completed in 2019. I’m committed to CPD and have current Safeguarding and Prevent Certificates, am fully insured, attend clinical supervision, DBS cleared and ICO (Data protection) registered.
